Discovering New Worlds: NASA’s Search for Exoplanets

Lecture

The galaxy is filled with stars, and scientists believe most of them have their own solar systems. NASA’s newest planet-hunting spacecraft, TESS, is expected to find thousands more. We will talk about the mission, and how planets are detected light-years away.

Lecturer

Frank O’Brien has been volunteering at InfoAge since 2003, and is a Solar System Ambassador for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is the author of a very successful book on the Apollo Guidance Computer, and gives monthly lectures on all aspects of spaceflight.
