New Horizons at Pluto: Discoveries at the Dwarf Planet

Lecture

After a 9 year voyage, the New Horizons spacecraft flew by Pluto and returned a wealth of data on this mysterious object. Spectacular photographs and instruments revealed a totally alien landscape that is still evolving, with an atmosphere and frozen oceans of nitrogen.

Speaker Frank O’Brien has been volunteering at InfoAge since 2003, and is a Solar System Ambassador for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is the author of a very successful book on the Apollo Guidance Computer, and gives monthly lectures on all aspects of spaceflight.
